Yes, all brands, always. Calvin, don’t lie to me and say they won’t roll up. Of course they will.

Man, ain’t THAT the truth. But I’d rather wear the world’s worst boxer briefs than the world’s best tighty-whiteys.

I’ll see peace back on Earth if I gotta murder every one of these bastards with my bare goddamn hands! -

-Bill, Left 4 Dead 1.

Christmas comes early to those of us fortunate enough to want to obliterate zombies. In the name of peace, you see.

I'm no Blue-Sky Solutioneer, but I'll take a look.

I’ve been following (read: obsessing over) Merlin Mann for about a year now. I started on Twitter, a realm he was king of before there was a realm to rule (@hotdogsladies - but you knew that). I followed him to his blogs, and especially his Tumblog. It’s great stuff.

And yet…

See, here’s the thing. I do creative. Creative work, creative play, creative therapy. I love being creative. I don’t shy away from that word, as I think it describes me pretty well. I’m no Da Vinci, but I didn’t want to be - I’m happy being me and working my way toward solutions and results.

But Merlin’s been outlining a few things in leading up to his new book. Things about doing creative work and working on the patterns of creativity. And I like them.

The one thing I took away from his MaxFunCon speech was the bit about the fat guy (guilty) sitting in new sneakers, eating cookie dough, reading “Runner’s World”, complaining about the lack of tips on how to run. In my recently rekindled attraction to being “a creative”, I’ve strived to NOT be this guy.

“Get your fat ass on the road every morning at five and you’ll figure out the tips,” Merlin said in the aforementioned speech. I’ve applied that to doing creative work, as well as to my workout regimen, which I’ve re-ignited in the interest of looking/feeling bette,r and quitting smoking. Yes, MERLIN MANN TALKED ME INTO QUITTING SMOKING. Not just “weaning off”, not just “at parties”. No smoking. Because Merlin seems to hold the secret - not “The Secret”, but a secret I think I always knew:

A picture of me and the picture I did of Jon Hamm as Don Draper.
I know, I’m a little Mad Men obsessed, but I just love it. It’s a great show with great dialogue and incredible acting.
I know, I’m lacking a flat bed scanner.
I know, you can still kind of see a rough sketch I did of Harry Potter for my cousin on the back of the Draper profile.. I recycle. Deal.

Ricky Gervais Podcast to Become Cartoon
Man oh man, do I love the Ricky Gervais Show podcast. It’s one of the most popular podcasts in the world (maybe THE most popular?) and now it’s being turned into a cartoon on HBO.
Oh. Em. Eff. Gee.
I’m so excited. Karl Pilkington is the greatest person that ever put on headphones and spoke into a microphone. Ricky is great, but gets a little tedious (he, quite literally, does nothing but pick on Karl the entire show). Stephen Merchant is perfect as the guy throwing peanuts into the center ring and letting the monkeys fight it out.
AND SPEAKING OF MONKEYS: There’s a feature called “Monkey News” that’s…just amazing. Just amazing.

It makes me happy to know that most of you love Grover as much as I do.
Super Grover!

I’ll go you one better.
I love this damn muppet so much. He’s loud, he’s a little behind the curve, he’s super without being super. He reminds me of me.
